Karla Highman is the founder of WalkingWise.com, an eLearning platform focused on educating young people (ages 10+) and adults about grooming, sexual abuse, pornography, sextortion, human trafficking, and the hidden buyers. Throughout the creation of the Walking Wise® education program, Karla has been honored to work with seventeen leaders who have overcome child sex trafficking. Overall, she has collaborated with more than 60 anti-trafficking advocates to develop a comprehensive curriculum for youth, an animated video series, and an eLearning course for adults. Walking Wise is focused on helping young people recognize the signs of sexual exploitation and know how to report it. Karla's Walking Wise mission is to equip adults with the tools necessary to educate young people about the many tactics used by sexual predators to exploit vulnerabilities. The goal is to help individuals and organizations build an anti-trafficking community culture using the power of knowledge. Karla is an Ohio State University alumna with a 35-year business career. She has served as the marketing director for a nutritional manufacturing company, co-director of a statewide energy education non-profit, and senior account manager in the financial industry.
