How We Began

While volunteering in the fight against child sex trafficking, Founder Karla Highman stumbled upon explainer-style video production. As a visual learner, this straightforward approach to teaching inspired her to produce 3-minute animated videos about child sex trafficking. Walking Wise videos are well-aligned with research, as studies estimate visual learners make up approximately 65% of the U.S. population and that students prefer bite-size training, such as short 2 to 5-minute videos. Our Contributors

Much collaboration went into deciphering research, writing scripts and lesson plans, directing voice artists, and teaming up with video makers. Many thanks go to our volunteer subject matter experts, including Forensic Nurses, Law Enforcement Officers, Social Workers, Teachers, Principals, College Professors, Trafficking Advocate Leaders, and Survivors. Their advice and critiques were instrumental in producing our anti-trafficking video series, which is now available to educate our most vulnerable population – children.
