Walking Wise recommends that school districts build an anti-sex trafficking culture within each middle and high school by implementing an ongoing trafficking prevention education program. Today, subject matter experts provide much of the human trafficking education to schools as guest speakers. They typically offer awareness presentations to school staff, youth, and their parents.
Our Walking Wise objective is to use a well-defined approach to human trafficking education. We have aligned our educational process with the guidelines commissioned by the U.S. Department of Education, Office of Safe and Supportive Schools – called Human Trafficking in AMERICA’S SCHOOLS. Our Walking Wise Implementation Guide advocates for the “train the trainer” model to establish a sustainable anti-sex trafficking school culture.
